Anvil® International and ISAT (International Seismic Application Technology) Create Alliance to Jointly Market Seismic Products and Design Services
(Portsmouth, NH) December 1, 2009 — Anvil International has obtained third-party Certification by IAPMO® confirming compliance to Section 116875 of the California Health and Safety Code (commonly known as AB1953), the Company announced today. Anvil International, the world's largest fitting manufacturer, is a subsidiary of Mueller Water Products, Inc. (NYSE: MWA).
Section 116875 requires that plumbing and public water distribution system components that convey or dispense water for human consumption through drinking water or cooking be “Lead Free.” “Lead Free” means not more than a weighted average of 0.25 percent lead content when used with respect to the wetted surfaces of pipes and pipe fittings, plumbing fittings and fixtures. Section 116875 of the Code also requires lead-free products be certified by an independent, third-party American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accreditation service such as IAPMO®.
